THE ANGEL'S BECKONING CALL

A beautiful angel-an angel in white-Surrounded by a radiant light
With tears in her eyes-I heard her beckoning call
"Take my hand"-as she led me down a great hall
When we reached the end-She released my hand
From there I could see all of the lands
The poverty, the defeat-People with no homes-Living out on the street
With fear filled in their eyes-Not many to care of to listen to their cries

The suffering, the pain-Crimes committed with no shame
So much abuse, all done in vain.

Love thy neighbor, the Bible states-Yet so many are filled with hate

You have the chance in this life-Change your wrongs make them right
As she faded from my sight

Her voice grew faint-"No one knows the time nor date
Keep the faith for the pure at heart-Holds the key to heaven's gate."

O HOW I LOVE JESUS

?ause He first loved us.??John 4:19

Words: Frederick Whitfield, 1855.

Music: 19th Century American melody

There is a Name I love to hear,
I love to sing its worth;
It sounds like music in my ear,
The sweetest Name on earth.

Refrain

O how I love Jesus,
O how I love Jesus,
O how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

It tells me of a Savior?ove,
Who died to set me free;
It tells me of His precious blood,
The sinner?erfect plea.

Refrain

It tells me what my Father hath
In store for every day,
And though I tread a darksome path,
Yields sunshine all the way.

Refrain

It tells of one whose loving heart
Can feel my deepest woe;
Who in each sorrow bears
A part that none can bear below.

SINCE JESUS CAME INTO MY HEART

?tand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in.??velation 3:20

Words: Rufus Henry McDaniel, 1914. McDaniel wrote these words after the death of his son.

Music: Charles Hutchinson Gabriel, 1914

What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought
Since Jesus came into my heart!
I have light in my soul for which long I had sought,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Refrain

Since Jesus came into my heart,
Since Jesus came into my heart,
Floods of joy over my soul
Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

I have ceased from my wandering and going astray,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And my sins, which were many, are all washed away,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Refrain

I?ossessed of a hope that is steadfast and sure,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And no dark clouds of doubt now my pathway obscure,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Refrain

There? light in the valley of death now for me,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And the gates of the City beyond I can see,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Refrain

I shall go there to dwell in that City, I know,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And I?appy, so happy, as onward I go,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS

? cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.??latians 6:14

Courtesy of Old Rugged Cross Historical Museum

Words & Music: George Bennard, 1913

The Old Rugged Cross was written in Albion, Michigan. Or Pokagon, Michigan. Or Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. All three towns claim to be the birthplace of this hymn.

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain

So I?cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.

Refrain

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For ?s on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

Refrain

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He?call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I?share.

Refrain

SITTING AT THE FEET OF JESUS

? had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus?et, and heard His word.??ke 10:39

Words: J. H., 19th Century.

Music: ? for Jesus (Hull),??a Hull, 19th Century Alternate tune:

?liff,??om The Crucifixion, by John Stainer, 1887

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Oh, what words I hear Him say!
Happy place! so near, so precious!
May it find me there each day.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
I would look upon the past;
For His love has been so gracious,
It has won my heart at last.

Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Where can mortal be more blest?
There I lay my sins and sorrows
And, when weary, find sweet rest.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
There I love to weep and pray,
While I from His fullness gather
Grace and comfort every day.

Bless me, O my Savior, bless me,
As I sit low at Thy feet.
Oh, look down in love upon me;
Let me see Thy face so sweet.
Give me, Lord, the mind of Jesus;
Make me holy as He is.
May I prove I?been with Jesus,
Who is all my righteousness.

JESUS LOVES EVEN ME

? is love.??hn 4:8

Words & Music: Philip Paul Bliss The Charm (Chicago, Illinois: Root & Cady, 1871).

I am so glad that our Father in heav?lt;br>Tells of His love in the Book He has giv?
Wonderful things in the Bible I see,
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.

Refrain

I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me.
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me.

Though I forget Him, and wander away,
Still He doth love me wherever I stray;
Back to His dear loving arms I do flee,
When I remember that Jesus loves me.

Refrain

Oh, if there?nly one song I can sing,
When in His beauty I see the great King,
This shall my song through eternity be,
? what a wonder that Jesus loves me!??t;br>
Refrain

Jesus loves me, and I know I love Him;
Love brought Him down my poor soul to redeem;
Yes, it was love made Him die on the tree;
Oh, I am certain that Jesus loves me!

Refrain

If one should ask of me, how can I tell?
Glory to Jesus, I know very well!
God?oly Spirit with mine doth agree,
Constantly witnessing Jesus loves me.

Refrain

In this assurance I find sweetest rest,
Trusting in Jesus, I know I am blessed;
Satan, dismayed, from my soul now doth flee,
When I just tell him that Jesus loves me.

RAPTURE INDEED!

? we see but a poor reflection??n we shall see face to face.??Corinthians 13:12

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Words: James Rowe, circa 1913.

Music: William Edie Marks

After my trials and troubles are past,
After my burdens aside have been cast,
I shall see Jesus my Savior at last,
That will be rapture indeed!

Refrain

That will be rapture indeed,
Glory and rapture indeed,
When I shall see Him Who died on the tree;
O that will be rapture for me!

When the last battle with sin shall be o?
When the wild tempest can beat me no more,
I shall see Jesus on heaven?lad shore,
That will be rapture indeed!

Refrain

When I behold Him and praise Him up there,
Singing with angels in garments most fair,
When in His glory at last I shall share,
That will be rapture indeed!
